The September Whirlwind Continues!

We didn't slow down after CommUAV. Nope, we were back at it the following week to join the Ocean County Sheriff MITRE Engenuity Safely Operating Aircraft Remotely (SOAR) training. This training developed for public safety and first responders takes the student from low or zero flight time to being a functional Remote Pilot who can safely integrate with others of different skill levels.

We met new friends, Clay Regan, and Jack White, both retired Texas law enforcement officers who are pros with drones. They shared their knowledge while delivering the MITRE SOAR curriculum. Ron flew more during this training than he has over the past year. They definitely helped build confidence!

Our friend Sgt. Kevin Fennessey from the Ocean County Sheriff was also on hand to share his knowledge with the team and even talk about their program with Ocean County Vo-Tech students who are in the Law and Public Safety career track. Getting to students early can often be a benefit of how diverse this career can be.

Kevin has grown the UAS Unit since he received the assignment last year. We first met Kevin when he attended one of my two-day FAA Part 107 classes and we keep in touch on a regular basis as we do with all of our clients.

If you're interested in hosting a class reach out to us for details. We will work with you on class sizes and incentives for hosting.
